For more than 30 years, The Graphic Designer has been a trusted creative partner in Farmington, New Mexico, serving local businesses, schools, and organizations with quality design, print, and promotional products. What began as a small-town print shop has grown into a full-service design studio recognized for its craftsmanship, customer care, and commitment to community.
The People Behind the Brand
John and Alisha were able to purchase The Graphic Designer a few years ago. This opportunity allows Alisha to work with her son, Rowan, and spend the day creating anything you or we can think of. John stops in to boss us around and to let us know how things should be done. LOL! We look forward to creating a legacy that our kids can pass on to theirs.
John and Alisha have been married for a life time, raised their three children and are still trying to figure out what they want to be when we grow up. Alisha was a teacher for 17 years before taking over The Graphic Designer. John worked at CF&M for 15 years before becoming a partner. When not working their time is spent camping, UTV riding, and traveling to spend time with family.
Rowan applies his technical experience and eye for detail to every stage of production. He oversees daily operations to ensure every banner, plaque, and embroidered cap meet the highest professional standard.
The Next Generation
The Inspiration Behind the Logo
John’s grandparents built their house in the 50’s and during that time they planted a silver leaf maple. When John’s mom and dad built their house, his grandpa gave him a seedling from their tree to plant in his backyard. Even though time has passed and people have moved on those trees are still standing tall and proud in the old neighborhood.
The silver leaf maple has always had a special place in John’s heart, so it only made sense to make that our logo. There are three leaves to represent our children, each leaf in their favorite color.
The Blue Leaf represents Rowan, symbolizing focus and thoughtful design.
The Pink Leaf represents Makeyan, whose bright spirit inspires the brand’s boldness.
The Green Leaf represents Phillip, whose energy reflects growth and innovation.
Together, the three leaves celebrate family, creativity, and community — the heart of The Graphic Designer brand.
